2020 Game Street Application

Located in Artyopolis, a kid-sized metropolis of art, games and entertainment, Game Street features exciting game booths reminiscent of a traditional downtown main street with a splash of color and whimsy.

Game Street offers a space for your club, non-profit organization, or civic group to raise money in a high traffic, easily accessed area of Artyopolis. For-profit businesses looking to raise money for a non-profit organization or charity are also encouraged to apply. Organizations are asked to provide a fun, exciting and active game for kids of all ages.

Applicants should thoroughly develop every aspect of the proposed game – including overall concept, props, costumes, and prizes, and be prepared to describe each aspect in detail and include this information in this application.

Game Street application deadline is

Monday, March 9, 2020

Notifications will be mailed to all applicants by April 1.  If accepted, game sponsors are required to submit a $35.00 booth fee deposit with a signed agreement.  Electricity is available for an additional $35.00 per booth.

GAMES STREET GUIDELINES

  • Proposed games must be unique, creative, and compliment the overall spirit of the Festival – a family-friendly, outdoor celebration of the arts!
  • The Festival encourages games sponsored by non-commercial and/or non-profit organizations (sports teams, civic clubs, school groups, etc.). For-profit businesses or organizations raising money for a non-profit organization or charity are also encouraged to apply.

  • Game booths should fit within/under a 10’ x 10’ tent provided by the Festival. Limited access to water and electricity is available (see “Fees,” pg. 2).  Games must be safe, well constructed and maintained, and creatively planned to appeal to children and families.

  • Game booth personnel are encouraged to wear appropriate costumes, or coordinated attire (logo t-shirts, hats, etc.), to be easily identified by patrons. Groups are encouraged to wear shirts bearing the logo of the non-profit or charity or organization for which they are raising money, but please note that additional signage/advertising/promotional material/request for donation is not allowed. No additional items for sale (like bake sale, shirts, etc.).
  • Each game booth may accommodate only one game.  Additional games proposed by the same sponsor require separate application forms and deposits (see “Fees,” pg. 2).

  • Each game booth will charge .50¢ for one play/turn/chance.

  • Each game booth will award appropriate prizes.  Booth sponsors are also encouraged to offer consolation prizes. Artyopolis Coordinator can provide ideas for low cost prizes.
    • USED and/or RECYCLED PRIZES ARE PROHIBITED
    • FOOD and/or BEVERAGE PRIZES MUST BE IN ORIGINAL PACKAGING
    • NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Failure to abide by these requirements may result in a monetary fine (deducted from gross sales) and/or expulsion of game booth from Festival grounds.

  • All individuals working on Games Street must have an official Festival button.  The Festival does NOT provide buttons to game booth sponsors or personnel. Purchase your admission band in advance for $15 by end of business day on Tuesday, June 9th at the Salina Arts & Humanities office or at any participating button locations.

  • Sunday, June 14:  12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

NOTE: Sponsors are required to staff their game booth during all hours of operation. Failure to abide by these requirements may result in a monetary fine (deducted from gross sales) and/or exclusion of game booth acceptance from future Festivals.

  • The Festival is an outdoor event.  Prepare for inclement weather - including rain and high temperatures.  Game booths will remain open during designated hours of operation unless otherwise advised by Festival staff.
